Special Thanks to Those that Made the lights at Alston Field Happen this Season!!!
Limehouse Heating and Air, SCE&G, Limehouse and Son's Inc., Palmetto Equipment Rentals, the Dorchester Career School, and of course our Sertoma Members!

History:  Due to circumstances beyond our control, the lights at Alston field were condemned by the town of Summerville who left it upon Sertoma to fix them if we wanted to use the field this year.  Given very short notice and lack of alternatives by the Summerville Town Council, Sertoma decided to reallocate $20,000 that we originally intended to donate to the town, after they cancelled the building of an additional field at Gahagan in August.  Read the Article: Football Filed of Dreams Vanish This money will now be used to repair the lights at Alston Middle School so that we can utilize the field at night.  Unfortunately, these 2 events has left us without a place to facilitate lighted games during the first few weeks other than Gahagan Field, and delayed our publishing the final schedule.

Sertoma has taken an active role and has been working with the Summerville Town Council in regards to these issues, but unfortunately, we were unable to sway the councils views to support the Gahagan field addition, funding of the repairs at Alston, and general support of this football program that we believe is vital to our children and our community.  Rest assured, we will continue to fight on your behalf to do what we believe is right!

In the end, Sertoma ended up expending in excess of $37,000 to make these repairs, but through heroic efforts, we were able to get the field repairs completed ahead of our original schedule.
