Sertoma Club of Summerville football is based on the principals of teaching children to be better football players, better students, and better people. We encouraging a competitive, safe, and fair environment, and have implemented background checks, coaching certification programs, selection processes, and evaluation systems for every coach. Our success has made us one of the most sought after programs in the low country, with request coming in from all over to join in our program!
In 2011, we plan to build on the success of our Mighty Mites flag football program. The format will be 6v6. We expect approximately 12 kids per team.
Our Bantam, A, B Leagues will be an 11v11 format based on NFHS rules. Additional rules are also enforced per league. We expect approximately 22 - 26 kids per team. This year we will continue using a Mandatory Play Roster to enforce a minimum play format.
SEE UPDATE BELOW
Unfortunately, due to the low numbers of older players, we will be unable to continue our "C" League this year. In order to try and facilitate as many children as possible, we have modified the "B" League rules slightly to allow smaller 13 year old children that are under 100#'s for the 2011 season. Players will be weighed at registration and there will be NO exceptions.
C-League Update 8/28
Even after extending sign ups by a week, handing out flyers at middle schools, and putting adds in the paper, we were only able to sign up 46 interested players out of the 80 needed to run this league. At this time, we have no choice but to formally cancel this league for the 2011 season. Please check back next season for the possibility of a 2012 league and also for future Sertoma events and camps.
